On 12th September 2017 East Bank Road was granted planning permission for a total of 77 homes. The homes will be built on land that was previously occupied by old East Hill primary and secondary school. All 77 homes will be built in association with Sheffield Housing Company and will be built by Keepmoat Regeneration part of Engie Group.
Of the 77 units, 58 will be built for private rent for The PRS REIT plc and will be brought to the market under Sigma Capital Group’s Simple Life brand. The remaining 19 homes will be built for open market sale.
Sheffield Housing Company and Sigma Capital comments, ‘The designs will concentrate on creating successful ‘places’ for people. Building layout and style, hard and soft landscape, highway design and use of materials should all work together within the development to create a cohesive overriding character’.
Andy Beattie, development manager at Sigma Capital further adds ‘Following the success of our apartment scheme at ‘Park Grange House’ in Norfolk Park, Sheffield, we are really pleased to be working with SHC and Keepmoat Regeneration again to affirm the demand for rental housing in the Sheffield area.
‘With a recent report commissioned by Homes of the North, stating that Sheffield will need at least 5,395 homes built per annum over the next 10 years and that there is a particular shortage of private rental homes, we are really excited to be a part of the city’s growth. Not only are we looking forward delivery a quality private rental option within the Sheffield housing market, we are also proud to be delivering longer-term community benefits and positive social and economic development for the city.’
East Bank Road is an excellent location, only a short walk from Sheffield City Centre, offering plenty of local shops and amenities. With a mixture of three and four bedrooms, the homes are set to be popular for young families and professionals alike.
